Hi there,

I was hoping someone could help with UK law (ofcom) for wireless links

What I would like to know is the following:

What are the bands which need to licensed (5ghz, 3.65ghz, 900mhz, Wimax)
Is 900mhz possible to use, as it used by o2 and Vodafone? (I can see 12mhz gap where its not used, by either) If it is possible, can you get a licence and at what cost?

WIMAX - I believe is owned my Pipex, but is there any bands which can be used with a licence? And what is the cost of this?
I believe is there an option for something called 'non-operational usage' where you can get a temporary licence but if thats still the case I don't know - http://www.alvarion.com/index.php/en...k-for-metranet

Below is some information which I found on the web:
Band A - 5150-5350MHz - Indoor Only/Mobile Only/DFS/TPC - EIRP 200mW - License Free
Band B - 5470-5725MHz - Indoor/Outdoor/DFS/TPC - EIRP 1W - License Free
Band C - 5725-5850MHz - Outdoor FWA Only/DFS/TPC - EIRP 4W - Requires a License

But if anyone could lend a hand to this that would be great.

No you cant just use 900MHz because O2 does, they have paid for the rights to use it. There are loads of bands that you cant use and even if there seems to be bands that arent in use, they are reserved for the military etc.

What do you want to use the spectrum for ? There are free use frequencies http://www.gbaudio.co.uk/radio.htm.

Indeed, if memory serves the MoD and the BBC have massive chunks of seemingly empty space.
