When I'm gaming....every 40 seconds I get "Connection Interrupt" for about....5 seconds and I've tried everything to try and fix it.

I have BTYahoo wireless internet and my main hub is downstairs and my computer is upstairs where I have a wireless adaptor plugged into my computer.

Is there anything I can do like, buy a cable or something to stop this? Does overclockers sell something for this? :(

please help

my signal (when I don't have the connection interrupt) is either 4/5 or 5/5 so pretty good. I will take into account your suggestion, thankyou

This is what my friend wrote to me on a forum:

you might often get a few crashes with cat5 crossover cables unless the other PC is barely used at all, i would recommend getting a switch if at all possible!! This way it works as a router but priorities and orders the packets so that you get no crashes

I don't quite understand what he's going on about when he says I need a switch. What takes less hassle if my PC is upstairs and my hub is downstairs?
