Wireless USB Adaptor

The main decision is whether you want 5GHz (N or AC) support or not. That'll largely depend on what your router supports and how far away from the router you'll be.

If this is for a desktop running a cable would be preferable, but obviously not always practicable.

...or anything cheap do?

Depends what you need it for. ;)

2.4 GHz usually gets through walls better, but 5 GHz (802.11ac really) can get you higher bandwidth.

Then there's considerations of MIMO, more streams gets you more bandwidth.

If you just want something basic a £6 N150 one will probably do.

Its just a Sky router. Only needs to go through 1 wall as such. Dont want to chop house around as about to buy a new place. I will put effort into hardwring in new house
