Howdy,

Earlier on in the year I was having issues with my old 2006 Macbook and it's wireless. Whilst it would detect networks and everything it wouldn't connect whatsoever, so essentially viewed it as dead.

So I went and bought a CSL USB stick to see if it would work as a solution and to start off with it was great, connected to the network fine and loaded web pages/streamed fine.

Now all of a sudden it's being a real ballache, the wireless network utility software it comes with just shows it dropping whenever it feels like it, when it is connected pages load to a standard akin to dialup.

Firmware is up to date and all that, so any suggestions before I throw it out the window and buy a new one?

Try a power cycle on the router and check if there have been any updates to the CSL USB stick drivers or firmware,if there have been then roll them back.

Try the USB stick in another usb port too.
