Wireless v.s Homeplug?

I ditched wireless about 5 years ago as the signal was very poor and went to home hubs. Then about a month a go after 2 failed adapters I'm now using a 10 metre cat5e cable down the stairs - now my entire network is a gig.

Wired is always going to be the ultimate solution, but some of us unfortunately don't have that luxury ;)

What make were your home plugs, not had an issue with mine. That said if cat 5 is an option todo without impacting on the house then it is the best but 100mb is easily sufficient for me and i store all documents/pictures on a network drive

RJ45 cable are far cheaper again just plan your route get the right length and just tuck the cable under the edge of the carpet. In case of carpet gripper use something like a wide wall paper stripper, stand on the edge of the carpet to press it home, then use the wall paper stripper to press the edge of the carpet right down again.

Wouldn't be possible in my house tbh without doing some wall work which isn't happening.

Forgot to mention, though could be obvious to some. You can put a hub after the homeplug to serve multiple devices from the plug, though some homeplugs come with built in hubs - just depends how tidy you like it
