Hi, I am looking at replacing my ring video doorbell with something that can still record and store footage either locally or though 4g/5g so the camera can keep recording when wifi is down.I can only really use a wireless setup.

I was also looking for the option of setting an alarm through the app when ever the wifi goes down.

My current ring doorbell does not record anything when wifi is down and does not give me any alarm or warning through the app to tell me wifi is down.

Any help is much appreciated , thanks

I don't know the exact answer to your question, but this page has a list of video doorbell manufacturer websites.

If you can't find a video doorbell that does it, then I guess one solution might be an additional security camera, as those will record to an SD card and some connect to 4G I believe. There's a list of security camera manufacturers here.

Reolink. It has an SD card in so records to that, and backs up to the cloud when connected.

Thanks dlockers.Does this mean with no internet connection at all it still records to the sd card and did you know if it is a wireless setup ? Could you please let me know the version of Reolink.

Your help is much appreciated .

Reolink don't do a battery powered doorbell camera, but they are all wifi, powered by poe or by using either the original wiring(might require a cheap driver) or their supplied power supply.
Either way you can insert an sd card into them for recording when the wifi is down, which you can then access through their app.
