My router is Netgear DG834G which can (allegedly) handle both wired & wireless connections. My pc is connected to this router via the 'wired' route & I'm fine with that.
I want to add a 2nd desktop pc to this router and although I have all the cat6 cables & faceplates, network card etc to physically plumb it in, I am beginning to think it might be a whole lot easier to just grab a wireless network PCI card and connect this pc wirelessly. It's my missus' house not mine & she's not all that keen on me drilling through walls etc :p

1. Can anyone recommend a decent PCI wireless card (budget £30 max). I saw some Belkin ones down at my local shop for about £25 which fall within my budget. Are there any cards to steer clear of?
2. Are there any extra security measures I need to take with a wireless connection? This pc will be running AVG & ZoneAlarm -is this enough or are there some additional router settings I should be aware of?

WEP or WPA (please choose a nice long & strong password) is always a good plan along with MAC filtering so your router will only allow a conenction to pre approved clients, also preventing SSID broadcast is advisable but this has been linked to dropped connections so it's up to you. This should prevent casual evesdropping. Also will you be doing any large (few GB) transfers over the wireless link as they are not the best for this sort of thing.
