Hi all,

Looking for some help here, we're looking at a VOIP solution that will run on our wireless network. Basic requirements are that it doesn't need to make outgoing calls, just calls to other people on the same network. I was thinking along the lines of asterix for the server or MS Lync, and a wireless handset, we don't need any fancy trimmings, but possible IM between people.

The part where i'm stumbling is finding a handset that will work on 802.11a/b/g/n either of these.

Has anyone got any ideas?

TIA

You've hit the problem that all Wi-Fi handsets are garbage that eat battery.

Normally if I had to this I'd get some DECT SIP handsets but if this means chucking a load of DECT repeaters around then that's a lot of expense and time.

Have you looked at the softphone running on a smartphone option?

I bought a set of two DECT phones cheap too replace the utter aweful phone we had. One is main other doesn't need phone socket just power and runs off main which rocks Just gotta setupANyadvice on:

Adding VOIP to landline cheap?? So my mum picks up dials or speeddials and it freely calls me?

A way to share your phone? So a sim card for a tenner (rodded innit (poundland down ya keks mate) runs on a comp but the landline dials/use's - what I mean is I can get it so if I txt it or summit it'll run commands. So me mum txts and it'll txt back if she has any messages or missed calls on the land line or if someone / who is home or home auto matiation, camera stats if them bad lads are in the enry.
and share the landline out so I can receive calls on my mob. If no one is in then a calls goes to my mobile. Meaning you call our 'ouse and nobaddy is in so it goes through to my mobile.
