a french firm called Scalable Graphics based at nancy in france, demoed their proof of concept for wireless VR, they didnt really explain how their device works, but they claim to have less than 16ms latency., the prototype also have an autonomy of 2hours, i will update on it if anything news shows up.
these are not the only ones working on wireless VR, but they are certainly the first to get this low latency, to me cables are the biggest problem of VR (aside from the price :D ), but certainly more important than higher refresh or resolution or tracking at this point vis a vis the quality of the headsets.

Very interesting stuff. I use VR with trinus to stream Project cars from my PC to my Samsung VR. Thats on a 5ghz wireless router and sitting maybe 3 feet from it and I still stutter once every minute or two. So I will be very interesting how they've achieved smooth wireless.
