Wireless with Blueyonder help please!

First time poster and getting really narked with this now.

Got Blueyonder (Virign) Broadband using a Motorola SB5101E Surfboard modem. Bought a MSI RG60SE 108M Wireless router. Using Windows Vista, what's the best way to sync them together and with my PC?

Tried to connect them up tonight with my father-in-law who works in the IT business and was unsuccessful.

Any help would be much appreciated!
 
I'm trying to connect the PC with the router with an Ethernet cable. The laptop has built in wireless card and is recognising the new network, as is the desktop, but neither will connect to the Internet (using IE7)

Just tried both of your suggestions and still nothing. Vista claims it is connected to an "unidentified network" when on the Network & Sharing Centre via Control Panel. The link between the PC and the network icon is green but there's the red X between the network and Internet.

My last resort is to ring up the Virgin Media premium rate phone number to sort all this out. I'm getting so frustrated with it all and am becoming desperate.
