Ok I'll try to explain everything in one post.

Brought a new netgear router as the GF dropped the iron on my linksys one so got a netgear one. Set-up everything fine, connected to the internet via LAN, set-up wireless with new SSID and key and worked fine. Few days later none of the wireless devices would connect. They could see the SSID but would refuse to connect so tried the LAN and that was working fine. Turn the router off and back on everything starts working. Few min’s later same thing. Tried all the channels for the wireless but still having the same effect. Checked for new firmware but no updates.

Any ideas? Could it be a faulty router as this has been going on for a few weeks now.

And no matter what type it drops out still? What about turning encryption off? Tried a different wireless channel? If you have an Android phone download the wireless scanner and choose a free channel.

Does not matter what channel its on or what type of encryption. But the PC via lan works fine. Have 2 laptops, 2 iPhones and an iPad does it to them all.

get xirrus wifi inspector and see what wifi it picks up. I find it better than inSSIDER as it shows nearby wifi relative to your position.

Also check for interference nearby such a video senders, baby monitors etc.
Try if possible to use WPA2 securty.

Try doing a factory restore on your router. Sometimes they get weird issues that can only be sorted by restoring to default settings
