Wireless Xbox 360 Controller on PC

Am I right in thinking to use the 360 controller on my PC I'll need:

The Controller - Obviously

A Receiver

A Play & Charge Kit - So I don't have to use batteries

That should work? Is there anything else I need?

Also, I'll be getting the black version. I can only find black version of the controller and charge kit, is there a black receiver?

Yep and Ive also just ordered said goods bar the play and charge kit

. I use Energizer 2500mah batteries that last ageeeeessssssss so no need for that kit.

I originally ordered what i believed to be the official XB360 pad from Tesco but it turned out to be a copy and didn't feel right. So Ive robbed one of my brothers wireless pads and purchased the receiver for £11.99 with free delivery.

EDIT/ Ive not seen any black receivers. That would look awesome along with a black pad.

I have a wireless xbox360 controller and a motherboard with wireless...

so do I need to purchase the adapter or can I just connect with the PC through the wireless mobo?

You need the adapter - wireless lan isn't the same as wireless controller .

Ahh I was just thinking along the lines of ... the amount of data that can be transfered over LAN... that surely with drivers it would be able to receive 'up, down, left, right ect'

oh well I just thought sega rally demo looked better on my PC but not enough to buy an adapter just for it

Yeah I use the Reciever with 2 Wireless Controllors and A Wireless Headset. I also keep a normal battery charger in one of the plugs with a load of batteries so I have nothing to worry about.
