So I have been using and old wired pad on my PC for as long as I can remmeber & I haven't played on my xbox for months... As soon as I picked up the wireless controller I realised I had to have it on the PC too.

Have other people had good experiences of using the wireless pad with the PC, I have heard some things may not work.

no experience myself but I have seen posts about connectivity issues. why dont you get a wired xbox controller saves having to pay for the wireless receiver

Sorry, I meant to say it is a wired XBOX controller I'm using at the moment, the wireless one just feel so much better.

No issues on two machines with two different dongles, mine both worked out of the box and win 7 installed when they were plugged in, but you do get a driver disc just in case as well.

I've got a 360 pad with an adapter box. Very simple. The only issue I've had is plugging the adapter box into a different USB socket makes it not work.

You can also use the PS3 controller on PC, over USB or even over Bluetooth if you want.

The software for the PS3 controller even has built in XBOX 360 controller profiles, so you can have the PS3 controller appear to games and windows as a 360 controller to get all the functionality too.

Use mine with the MS wireless dongle no problems at all with it, never had any problems setting it up in any game.

There are a few different USB Receivers out there that aren't the official MS ones. However, I purchased the official one 3 years ago now and have never had an issue with it. Just plug-and-play!

Also, take a look at Pinnacle Game Profiler if you want to create custom key mappings for games that don't support the pad.

No problems here wired or wireless,
I use a Madcatz street fighter pad (wired) an i also use a Madcatz Ghost recon future soldier (wired) with no problems.
My wireless pad is an official xbox360 with the ms wireless receiver brought separately.

I bought the official wireless adapter from amazon, got it in the post, plugged it into the computer, installed drivers... Off I went :)

No issues, works with most games flawlessly. You can download specific drivers to tweak the mapping exstensivly (spelling?).

So yea, worth it if I am honest, I have the little fob just sit on top of my 360 which is next to my monitor, I can walk into the garden and still control the game, just haha.
