Lo all,

I'm trying to set up my house mate's laptop to our wireless network. She has windows XP (sp2) and a Sitecom network card. I've done the usual wireless set-up stuff in the Windows Cofig bit and Network setting, but when I try and add the pre-shared key it says that it has to be of a certain length. My router says the WPA can be 8-63 characters. I'm familiar with WEP being a specific length but not the WPA. The two mac's in the house have no trouble connecting through Air-port.

Any suggestions why it wont accept a WPA key?

Cheers

Are you connecting through the PCMCIA cards software or through XPs built in utility?

WPA on its own is a pain the bum as it relies on Certificates. WPA-PSK however is the passphrase jobbie. Are you sure you mean WPA and not WPA-PSK?

The thing is this has only happened since she had to format it... We had it working last term and then over Christmas she had to do a format, and now, nothing.

Thanks for all your suggestions guys, keep them coming. I'm going home again at the start of Febuary and I have a spare Netgear card so I might try that if we cant get this working.
