hey,

i'm just in the process of wiring my new build. ive connected the 1st lot of the front panel connectors to the motherboard and i am left with a USB, HDA and AC'97 connectors.

the problem is i dont know if need the HDA/AC'97 connections? (what do they do exactly?) if i do, which one do i use (if not both?) and where do they plug into my motherboard? i dont have a sound card so i'm relying on the inbuild Asus P6T SE motherboard sound device.

anyone got some good advice on the matter?

cheers

Just goes to the headphone jack on the front of your case. If you're not going to use it then bunch the cable up to keep it tidy.

If you are going to use it, check motherboard manual or the board, mine goes in bottom left. I think you only need to plug in the HDA, forget about the other one.

i think it supports both as it mentions about using either in the manual.

is HDA better than AC'97?

on a different topic.... do you happen to be from Edinburgh (Scotland) at all Stupot ? :)
