Wiring Loom replacement

My wiring loom fell out of its clip and dropped onto the engine, resulting in 10 charred wires, 2 bare wires and some electrical gremlins.

My plan was to cut out the damaged sections and solder some new wire in. But I read somewhere that the vibrations will break the solder connections, will it be ok or should I use something else?

Any ideas where to get the wire? Also is there any particular type of wire I should be going for as it is in quite a high temperature area.

I would probably use scotch locks: quick, easy and effective. Soldering is a lot of hassle and not worth it for most things; regardless of vibrations, are you sure it's the best thing for the job?
Not sure about types of wire, but probably the bay. I doubt the temperatures go high enough for you to have to start worrying, with most wire. Big difference between touching the hot bits and being a few cm away from the hot bits, air is a really good insulator!
 
I would strip back the ends of the damaged wires and simply use crimp connectors and fresh runs of wire. Would be worth getting some heat shrink as well to seal the connectors as electrical tape will fall off sooner rather than later. Easier and quicker than solder and does a better job and only a couple of quid more expensive.

What sort of connectors would you use, seems to be a lot of different types out there.
 
Just buy a mix box from <map* ins> or halfords which comes with different size and shape connectors. They also sell heat shrink packs and of course the wire.
