Hi,
I'm new to modding my case and therefor wiring in general, but I have a bit of and idea I've come on here just get get some experienced advice to help me so not to break anything. Any advice would be most welcomed.
I have just bought a new momentary switch for my case and was not 100% sure on the correct method of wiring. From my current case the wires I have are POWER SW, RESET SW, H.D.D LED AND LED +/-. All have two small wires (except the LED +/- which are single wires) going into a connection to connect in to the motherboard.
On the back of the switch it has a + and - pin which I'm assuming the LED +/- wires go on to. It has 2 pins labeled NO (normally open), 2 pins labeled NC (normally closed) and C (common). Now this is where I'm a not sure where things go. Do I need to wire all of them up or can I just do certain ones.
I know the all I need to wire up are the NO and C otherwise it will constantly boot loop my pc but do I need to put all the wires on the switch or can I just wire on the power button and the LED +/-.
I'm also unsure the difference between the H.D.D LED AND the LED +/- wires are there interchangeable or shall I only use the LED +/- on the pins. The switch does have LEDs in the button.
The question is do I need to connect the power the restart to the NO and C pins and the HDD LED and the LED+/- to the corresponding +/- pins. And do I need to make sure that both the pins on the NO are contacted (there is only 1 C pins). I have attached pictures to try to help visualise what I am trying to get across.
Thank you in advance for any help.
