Wiring to RS232 Pins?

I have a project (IDE HDD Recovery) where I want to connect some wires to the pins where the master\slave selector jumpers sit.

An online walkthrough I saw recommended these like widgets:

But the site is in the US and I've struggled to find an alternative supply in the UK.

This is the first time I've tried something like this so I'm no expert to say the least.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Maybe an alternative but similarly convenient way of making those tricky connections onto the pins?
