I'm not really sure how to do this.
But I want to wire my nest doorbell in. It's a pain having to charge it. It would also allow me to record more actively.

I've seen the plug in transformers with wire and have a plug socket nearby. But I'd need to drill through the front door upvc frame. I've no idea what's in this frame.

Also. Ideally I'd like to thread it into the doorframe and up the inside to pop out where the doorbell is.

This might not be achievable but it would look much tidier.

Any idea?

Just asking...

Is it not possible to drill through the wall and straight into the doorbell?

It is something I did with my Ring as I did not want to take the risk of drilling through my UPVC frame.

The upvc used in double glazing is as soft as cheese unless composite but even that's easy to drill through. Keep as far away from glass panes as possible, and check where the mechanism for the door is to avoid it.

Where the wire pops indoors I used some white plastic trunking (from Screwfix) which is self adhesive and blends in really well with the white upvc door frame. I find this looks better than cable clips and a lot easier to install.

Unfortunately not.
The only way to do this would be to drill through a foot of wall and then external brick.

Great idea. It would be on the upvc on the inside I could just run it up the whole door to make it look more "on purpose"

Yeah, you could do that too. Here's what I did, the sunlight outside is making it darker than it really is, honest! I should have done a fancy 45 degree join in the trunking at the top. I just used what trunking I had on hand, some smaller trunking would have been better.
