Hi,

There seems to be 3 different versions of this game. The Vanilla edition, Version 2.0 and then an Enhanced Edition. What's the difference between these, and which version should I consider getting?

Regards,
Mike.

Both version 2.0 and the Enhanced Edition (which will be released shortly) are free upgrade patches to the standard version. You can download the version 2.0 patch at the moment form the Witcher website, the Enhanced Edition patch will come along for PC after the 360 release of the game.

Since The Witcher 2's release there has been a massive free update, taking the game to version 2.0. It included a tutorial, an arena mode, a new new difficulty setting and a lot of fine tuning to the combat system, graphical improvements and optimisation and some balance changes etc.
The Enhanced Edition marks the game's release on xbox 360 on April 17th. Along with this is another huge free update to the PC version. You can expect more of the same improvements as well as this intro sequence to explain the events on the first game: http://youtu.be/RPHgWfWFr9k?hd=1

I suggest you wait until the 17th to play the game.
To clarify, any PC copy of the game should be updated to inculde version 2.0 and the enhanced edition (for free).

Thank you very much guys, really appreciate it as I was getting awfully confused about what I should be paying extra for. Really good to hear that it's all free.

Regards,
Mike

It does seem extremely generous in this age of DLC. I'm waiting for the enhanced edition to be released before I get it myself.

£12 is the cheapest I've seen it, as said the game will be updated to the enhanced edition when it is released. I think there are a few physical extras which you get when you buy the enhanced edition. From what I can tell:

The Witcher 2: Assassins Of Kings - Enhanced Edition Includes:
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings game on DVD
OST CD: Audio CD with in-game music
World map: A map of the game's world
Quest handbook: The Witcher 2 quest handbook for both novice and experienced role-playing fans
Game manual: A rulebook and interface explanation to help you get started

Can't say I'm particularly interested, especially at the £40 price tag.
