Hey Guys, Hope you can help me with this. I have constant 60fps no problems until a massive stutter that lasts 2 to 5 seconds then back to normal for about 2 mins.

this problem only arisen when they released an update (dunno when they released it)

Would appreciate it immensely if you could solve the issue for me guys.

Are you running crossfire or sli? To fix stuttering on mgpu, people including myself have stopped the stutter by removing the health bar in the video options.

appreciate the reply but I don't have crossfire or sli,

I got no problems for all my other games

my specs are
FX-8350
GTX 970
16gb RAM
M587AL-USB3 (apologies, not too sure the name of the motherboard)

and it's on my SSD

try changing these settings in the nvidia control panel for the witcher 3:-

power management: max power

max pre rendered frames: 1

If you really get desperate for your Witcher fix you can try limiting the FPS to around 45 with nvidia inspector to see if that helps (as it does for GTA V on my G3258), if not you could try limiting the Witcher.exe to ~95% (-5% usage, less might work) using something like Battle Enecoder Shirase, I have to use this to get it to run on my G3258 without pausing, though I hadn't tried this before the patch I'm not sure it was ever different with this processor.

It does say "Starting from version 1.5.x, you can tweak the sleep/awake cycle (frequency) of BES, in milliseconds. This may be handy for example when you want to throttle a game process while keeping the visual smooth. Try a smaller value like 40 in such a case, instead of the default value, 100. Notice, a 40-millisecond cycle means that the visual can be redrawn, in theory, 25 times a second, allowing a 25-fps movie to play without being jumpy. Do not use a too small value, though (the smaller it gets, the less accurate control you get)."

Though I'm sure I was getting more than 25fps with greater values. Anyway, just something to consider if you just can't wait, use at your own risk!
