As someone who really enjoyed Ethan Carter, I am excited to see more of this game.

Thoughts?

glad you made a thread for this. Looks great, (looks a bit too great? - i'll wait to see actual confirmed gameplay videos, too many pre-rendered vids doing the rounds)

and fingers crossed for VR support

The game will be using Photogrammetry (using real life photographs to make models). The Vanishing of Ethan Carter also used it, and that game looked amazing! Here is an interesting blog post that the developers wrote about it from when they were making Ethan Carter http://www.theastronauts.com/2014/03/visual-revolution-vanishing-ethan-carter/

Ah cool, didn't know know that. I've done it before with small objects for a personal project.

It still looks pre-rendered. The smoothness of the turning doesn't look natural

Hope you can turn down/disable that head bob/roll simulation even just the videos make me go urgh never mind actually playing it if it is like that.

I have no idea why some developers persist in head motion simulation that can't be disabled or adjusted - sure some people need a small amount of it so they don't feel like they are gliding around on ice/floating head but IRL you automatically cancel it out so for most people it makes zero sense to simulate it.

I think we need to see a bit more footage later on but it's an interesting and compelling start. As someone else mentioned, Painkiller was a great game from the mid-2000s.

Wasn't too impressed when I read it was going early access, but it makes more sense given that they're going for something resembling a roguelite. They mentioned Hades, Returnal, and Dead Cells in their latest blog post. Fingers crossed it's of similar quality!
