I finally took the plunge and decided to get Stalker: Clear Sky. Great, worked a treat, killed my laptop (another story - don't ask - but suffice to say that I can now state with authority that the m7950gtx has a thermal cut off at 105C )

Anyway... I've just updated to the latest version of Nod32 and I got a little surprise:

Hmmm... thanks for that, I wonder if that comes free with every Steam game, or if it's a short term offer for a few lucky customers

Not exactly amazingly clear from your post but I assume nod32 has found a virus. And I can tell you now that it's a false-positive unless you've got the virus from some other source (e.g. not steam).

It's a good job you didn't get Uplink on Steam:

"Yo Dawg, I herd you like Viruses, so we put a virus in yo virus.."

It's blatantly a false positive, and if you're that bothered that you'd rather buy a physical copy, then more fool you.

@OP, try uploading it to VirusTotal to see what other AV vendors think.

I dont know anything about Viruses or virus checker. its something i have never looked at, yes fair enough i have it all on my computer but false negatives n stuff ive never heard off, what i mean is imo downloading anything has a risk. where as if you have a physical disk of it theres less chance to catch a virus
