With ReLive/Shadowplay - What are benefits of dedicated capture hardware?

For Streaming/recording, I find Re-Live and OBS does all I need.

Any benefits of Elgato and the like nowadays on a decent PC?

Infact, if running 21:9, dedicated capture cards can sometimes fart all over the place. Re-Live scales automatically with minimal impact on gameplay.
