Is buying stuff in china really cheap?

Just curious as my Mam is going there on holiday this year, and everything i own is made in china almost lol. So i imagine it can be had dirt cheap?

Can anyone comment?

cheers

Food is cheap, electronics aren't as cheap as you might think. My flatmate (he's Chinese) picked up a camera there while he was home and it was hardly any cheaper than i could pick it up online, although he did mention he'd bought his mum a cheap HDTV while he was there which sounded cheap but it was a chinese brand.

Of course they are the same price after all it costs virtually nothing to ferry them across the globe, truck them to the warehouse and then deliver them to your door.

Oh wait .... I forgot about the carbon footprint.

Still let's not talk about that and concern ourselfs with switching the lights off and cycling to work after all we need cheap goods ferried from China.

Our kids would feel deprived if they didn't get a throw away toy with their happymeal.

IMO when i went all around china everything was much more expensive, well all the things that are worth getting.
some hilarious fake ipods though if you go the small places though haha

either way, convince your mother to take you with her.Its the most amazing place I've ever been.

apart from beijing.Thats ****.

the whole food being cheaper thing is true though:D

massive bottle of coke=13p
can of beer = 10p
water=expensive.
crazy stuff

No swearing
