with the addition of a water cooling section, should there be more new sections?

just thinking, to make things easier would it not be good to have a 'peripherals' , 'spec me' and maybe even a 'PSU' section. just feels to me sometimes the 'general hardware' section seem cluttered with a lot of the same things, that if they had their own sections would make it easier for people to find what they want to know. just a thought.

+1 gets my vote. And maybe a PRE-BUILT SYSTEMS section as well.

iirc a psu section was suggested a while back but declined as it would be deader than 'on the water', but the others sound like a good idea.

the the psu one is tricky. lots of people ask 'will this run my...' in either here or the gfx section and you get a lot of conflicting replies from people on their prefered brands.

i think we need a poll :D

1. add psu
2. add peripherals
3. add spec me
4. add psu/peripherals
5. add peripherals/spec me
6. add psu/spec me
7. add all
8. mmmm pancakes....

If I am honest I think adding too many sub sections could be a bad thing. I think the watercooling section was a good addition but if you separate the forums too much I think some more knowledgeable people will not read all of the separate sections and my not offer their advice as they don't see the threads.

but how is 'Genera Hardware' questions the same as 'Spec me a new pc'?
same with which keyboard/mouse do you recommend, is that not the same as asking about cases, yet they have their own section  i understand too many is a bad thing, but i just think the general hardware section is generally spec me, spec me, spec me, problem, spec me, spec me, spec me, problem....... so the problems get overlooked. i stopped going into the general hardware section for ages because i was fed up of the 'i have £1000 to spend in 3 months time, spec me something' well 3 months prices change, so its pointless. i think just having its own section then allows people like stulid that knows his stuff about builds to help out, and others that want general help/advice, or are willing to offer it, less trudging through stuff to filter the stuff they need.

I think there is enough, watercooling was a good addition although personally I would have put it as a subsection of overclocking and cooling.

If there are going to be any more forums I think subsections are the way forward, the front page of OcUK takes about 3 mouse scrolls to get through at the moment as it is!

I think ocuk forum is ok as it is, the only thing I think that could be on it's own would be a spec me section just to move the threads out of general. The only problem I see with that is could reduce the replies to those threads.
