This has been the case since the bad weather started, now the snow almost seems to be gone and there is next to no improvement. It does not need to be said that I am not amused. I am on VM 10 meg, should I get on the phone to them?

New high ping record, any ideas what is causing this as the bad weather is gone and snow is almost completely gone.

Are you using anything other than speedest? Seriously posts like this make me lol.

Some people have issues and that makes it unstable and crap...lol

Have you even made an attempt to troubleshoot or phone VM?
Yes I have troubleshooted, unplugged everything and plugged it all back in again, ran tests on other computers that come back with similar results, checked the Ethernet cables for any damage to the wires. Unplugged the wires and used wireless to check that there isn't an issue with the Ethernet wires As I said I'm not great with networks so if there is anything else I can do then let me know. I can't ring VM because they will only speak to the account holder, said account holder doesn't think there is a problem and wont look at the results I'm getting and how long it takes to load a page.
Thanks for replies so far :)

http://192.168.100.1 will open the modem page. If it asks for a username and password, it should be 'root' for both. The stats are on the various pages there, which they will ask for. Easier to post them on your opening post to save time :)
Thank you, although I doubt I'll get a quick reply.. seems that the forum staff are on holiday. :)

I notice in your posts above that your "slow" speedtests are all when performed against the Newbury server. Others give you a better reading.

If I do a speedtest I don't get a maxed out download but I do from fast newsgroup servers with multiple connections.
:o, ahhh I just tested from the manchester server and you are indeed correct, ping and speed from there is far better. Although I will still have VM look at it as it defiantly is not as snappy as it was before the snow.
