Hello,

I cannot find any direct comparison between the Iris Plus 640 GPU and any other desktop GPUs. Which makes sense I guess considering these are two completely different classes GPUs.
I am just curious though with what desktop GPU is Iris Plus 640 comparable in terms of gaming? I realize it will be light gaming but still...

I just ordered a Small Form Factor Intel NUC with the Iris Plus 640 and want to know what am I getting.

Much appreciated.

A quick look on here:
http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_list.php
Shows the Iris Plus 640 scores 1498 points, which puts it around modern cards like the R7 250 (1406 points) from the Red Team, and the GT740 (1581 points) on the Green Team. This is only one benchmark, I realise, but it should give a reasonable idea of where in the hierarchy it is.

I find it astonishing that an Intel integrated GPU now beats an ATI 4870! Amazing how quick things move on in the computer world. :)

EDIT - Don't forget to post some benchmarks when you get it. As you've found, there aren't many out there and if you're looking then other people will as well and would love to find first hand experience of how good it is.

Thanks a lot mate,

That definitely puts things into perspective. And for what it is I have to say I am also impressed.
I will try to test the SFF NUC with my other monitor though (2560x1440), I don't think there's any point testing something like the GT740 with a 4K monitor in gaming.

Also Photoshop and 3DS Max.

Much appreciated and have a good weekend.

The only issue with those benchmarks is there benched using a highly clocked CPU however in the real world lower end GPU's like a R7 250 are often paired with a lower end CPU which aren't a able to drive the card to it's fullest.

Another thing to remember is Intel doesn't update it's drivers as often as AMD or Nvidia and getting the software right is the most important part in determining performance.
