Hey guys, im a bit puzzled :s Tmorrow, I need to withdraw £280, and I know your limited to £250 on the cash machine. Is there anyway to get the £280 out tmorrow? If they ask for id over the counter, all I have got is my college card (with my name and picture of me on it). My dad said that may not be enough :( I don't have anything else as they have been sent off for my provisional licence. Any help? Thanks. Its a normal saving account btw.

don't know about natwest but barclays you can take £250 out the cash machine and then go to the counter and get another £250

I withdrew £3,000 (13 years ago) over the counter with nothing more than my bank card and signature. I had told them to write me a cheque but they wanted to charge me for that so told them to simply give me the cash. Brown envelope and rather a long walk over to the Halifax to deposit in an isa.

I took £2800 out a couple of years ago. No questions asked, just my card and signature. I then had to walk about in an unfamiliar city with the cash in my pocket to another bank. Terrifying!

I wonder why people find that kind of thing terrifying. It's not as if the cash is shouting to everyone around you that you'd be a good mugging target.

I've done the exact same thing on at least a couple of occassions for the exact same reason, transferring to my ISA.
