Hi guys, firstly im not a novice, i fix hundreds of PCs each month repair mainboards do microsoldering of bios chips yada yada have done for 15 years, this isnt trying to be cocky, i mean im here begging for help :p but more that i dont need everyone telling me to download divers off the manufacturers site...i know lol.

But i digress, this particular task has me struggling and im hoping the wisdom of the internet and lovely folks of OCUK can help!!

I have been handed 2 "Entity" chinese laptops (model number is om0013 batch number 9790618 yes that is all the info on the laptops) which appear to be based on intel education tablet hardware. Intel no longer list any drivers for this hardware and the way back machine has no old copies that i can find.

Now having resorted to using Snappy driver origin to try to ID the drivers, 2 audio devices install under sound video and game controllers, namely

Intel SST audio device (wdm)
ES8316AudCodec Device

there are no missing drivers. the audio does not work. Windows says that no audio output device is found.

Can anyone shed any light on this? Research has pointed to the intel education tablet using realtek drivers for audio NOT this Everest stuff. But all the hardware ID matchers etc point to the everest aud codec device the hardware ID of this is ACPI\VEN_ESS&DEV_8316 and the ID of the intel SST audio is ACPI\VEN_8086&DEV_22A8

ive even stripped the device down and looked up chip ID's but nothing has really been made clear from that.

Im going to try win 7 and win 8.1 but the fact is that ORIGINALLY these came from china with win 10 pro and working audio.

Please help im losing the will to live.

TIA

This is bizarre and had piqued my curiosity. Looks like Entity laptops are/were sold by JDWilliams but there's no support there to be seen.
You'd think Win 10 would recognise the devices out of the box?

Since you mention they seem to be based on Intels education tablet how about this:

(apologies for linking to a Dutch site, but thats where I am ;))

I never heard of Entity laptops, tried googled it last night but cant find it and gave up so I tried again today 1 hour ago and managed to find some information.

Are 2 Entity laptops model OM0013 with 14 inch screen the exactly same as Entity laptop on this link below?

https://archiwum.allegro.pl/oferta/notebook-entity-om0013-2gb-ddr-32gb-ssd-14-w10-i8767319013.html

I searched a bit further found there are Entity android tablets and now finally found Entity is a UK company and they have website and support contact.

https://www.entityuk.co.uk/

It did not seemed Entity are based on Intel Education Tablet hardware because Entity OM0013 used Cherry Trail hardware with 14 inch screen and bundled with Windows 10 Home but Intel Education Tablet used older Bay Trail hardware with 10.1 screen and bundled with Windows 8.1 with Bing.

Somebody had same issue with Everest ES8316 sound not worked on Windows 10 and someone had found a worked driver to installed on Windows 10 to get sound worked properly.

Oh this looks promising :)
Amusing how entityuk's webiste is designed with wix.com

Wow guys you cant know how grateful i am! It wasn't hand fed as i still had to do some crazy hunting! For the "posterity" of the thread and the internet here is what happened

So i first deep skimmed the thread posted by @AthlonXP1800 (last link) which ran me to a few dead ends and dead threads but effectively established that these laptops are a variant of the Beelink BT3 PC (because the everest codec issue matches exactly)

Now from the threads it seems Beelink are censoring support in the forums for some reason with the majority of posts deleted and deeper links dead. However one really helpful chap had posted a french language guide to getting x64 support on his BT3

In this guide HERE he makes light of the fact the BT3 shares a ton of similarity to another device, namely the MeeGoPad T07 x64. Now his links were broken but i was able to find the MeeGoPad T07 x64 driverpack HERE

Inside this driverpack the audio folder contained two files - the intel SST drive and a Realtek I2S driver - interesting as my previous research had turned this up as the likely hardware for the intel education tablets (which of course i may now be wrong on but i digress) manually installing those however did not work. The realtek I2S driver was reporting that it wasnt the right driver at any rate. However back on the very first thread i recalled that someone HAD in fact posted the correct x64 Everest driver for the BT3. So i thought why not grab that and use it alongside the T07 SST driver.

Viola! Audio working a treat! Not worth the effort for these pretty horrid little laptops but hey i love a win. Will confirm the above shortly with the second entity laptop!

Again thanks all the above for your input, truly got me on the right path

One of the reasons I tend to avoid devices like this :s often the drivers are released as some random big zip link on Mega only found on some obscure forum often with only minimal content in the English language with no guarantee of ongoing support, etc.

recently picked one of these up for 10 pounds and had the same issue , the driver pack helped and driver talent pro finished off the last three unknown devices in windows 11.
just need to find a proper charger for it now.
