I have a problem with my Sony Vaio VGN-FE11H Laptop. The wireless slider switch on the front of the laptop no longer works properly, it can take 5 minutes of sliding it back and forth before the on position actually turns on the wireless. Also the wireless will often cut out if the laptop is move slightly (the light in the switch goes out and the connection is lost). I guess there must be a wiring issue. So I would like to know if anyone else has had the same problem and if anyone knows how to fix it or to simply bypass the switch as really I need the wireless on all the time.

Someone suggested getting a Wireless Cardbus which will fit in the PCMCIA and give you an alternative wireless connection. Would this have any issues ??

thanks

If the switch contacts are worn you could replace the switch from a faulty motherboard off the bay for about £40 if you do it yourself, or possibly wire the switch so its permanently on to bypass the slider.
