WLAN Ubuntu Issue

Evening,

I've just recently installed Ubuntu onto a HP Compaq Presario F500 Laptop and the WLAN was running fine last night, I was connected to my network etc. Today, I went to use it again and it cannot connect to the network, let alone see it. I'm running Ubuntu version 11.04.

I have tried finding the drivers for the WLAN chip in the laptop, but is an obscure make and so finding them is near enough to impossible.

Using the Ethernet port allows me to connect to the network and that has no problems at all.

Any help would be great :)

Can't see any networks.

Lspci shows no WLAN adapter when the card isn't functioning. However, the WLAN card sometimes works and it can be seen in the output of lspci. This made me think that it could be down to a loose connection.

Sometimes there is a keyboard combination that will turn the wireless on or off. FN +F11 or something. Try toggling it off and on again.
