WLM and random contacts adding me?

I keep getting loads of random contacts trying to add me, some which I believe are "bots", I have no idea why I keep getting added.

But anyway, is it possible to stop this without creating a new account?

How does this happen? I've had my current MSN account for half a year now and I haven't had randoms adding me.

First time round though, 2002-ish, I used to get randoms who add me. When I asked them how they found me, they always said "Face Party", even though I didn't have an FP account at that time.
 
Beats me. I've had the odd random add over the years but for the past month or two I've been dealing with around two a day. Starting to wind me up a bit to be honest.
 
Happens to me a lot recently and i've had my account since 2004 (thought i doubt this makes a difference). Just block and report abuse thats what i do.
 
The first time it happened I thought it might have just being a normal person, but it clearly was a bot asking me to visit it's webcam where "she" was stripping off etc..

Clearly was a link that if I clicked I'd probs get a virus or spyware.

Just annoying, not posted my address anywhere, I might see if I'm displaying it on facebook and remove it, I bet bots crawl all over facebook. But it's hard to tell if I get someone who wanted to add me and not a bot, I have to guess by the emails which usually have loads of numbers in.
 
Blame the people you give your email address to. They are the ones that get hacked and/or easily give away other people's details on websites.
 
I've had my account for nearly 10 years and only recently had this problem. I've no doubt my email address is on some sort of spam list (I don't see how it couldn't be for an account in service for that length of time) but something has almost definitely changed over the last few months. It can't be a coincidence that lots of users have suddenly noticed these bots - just going off recent threads alone in this forum.

Same situation here. Now I block everyone that add's me unless I recognise the name
 
I have had these too, they add you then send you a link to see them on webcam "We can haz credit card details too?"

Blocked...
 
This has been going on for months now. If MS has a graph no one is looking at it! :p

The only way I can think of to fix this is a Block/Ignore All Invites option.
