WM11 full screen

i'm trying to play some .mpg and mpeg vids on full screen, but when I click on full screen the image stays the same size, but moves into the top left of the screen, with the rest black. any ideas of anything I can do?

when not in max mode, right click the video, tick 'stretch to fit window' or something like that, not used wmp for ages, and haven't tried 11
