OK, got my new Desire Z. Contacts and calendar all synced seamlessly (the only minor problem being I have duplicates of all appointments because HTC Sync merged my Outlook and Google calendars onto my phone, but hey
) but I would like to also somehow transfer my Tasks, Notes and text messages.
After lots of searching, a lot of downloading different solutions, and a lot of frustration as none of them work, I came across CompanionLink, which managed to sync both Tasks and Notes with my phone just fine (except for notes that had handwriting or voice recording on them, but it's better than everything else I tried which just crashed as soon as I pushed "sync"). However, it's just the 14-day trial version that I've got and at $40 they're asking for a little too much imho, so if anyone can suggest an alternative I'd love to hear it! Stuff I tried which failed includes GOATS (froze on launch), UniversalSync-Astrid (Outlook plugin didn't plug anything into Outlook!), gsyncit, and a few others which I erased from my memory to preserve my sanity.
Texts aren't as important as I can just copy them onto the SIM and transfer them that way, but if anyone knows of a working solution to do it automatically please let me know! I've faffed around with everything from installing a billion little WinMo applets to running Perl scripts on the advice of sites like this, all to no avail.
