Wma to MP3

Looking for a convertor that will do bulk conversions of Wma to Mp3 so they work on my ipod as Itunes doesnt seem to be up to the job. Anyone know of any program that will search for them and then convert. There is about 600 songs.

you have to decide if the quality loss is worth it mate, what you're talking about is transcoding which is re-encoding summat which has already been encoded in a lossy format...

dBPowerAmp can do it i think... (dont quote me on that tho)

failing that, EAC (Exact Audio Copy) can decompress WMA files, you can then reencode em all with the LAME encoder - if i HAD to do it, this would be what i'd do...

Remember - in theory WMA is 2x as efficient as MP3 *don't believe it myself but...*

So *again - in theory*
64kbps WMA = 128kbps mp3
128kbps WMA = 256kbps mp3
etc...

Plus - transcoding is a very dodgy job - some songs will be fine transcoding - others will sound garbage
