WMP 11 Won't Play DVD's

I've just reinstalled windows due to my old system dying on me and I can't seem to get WMP 11 to play DVD's correctly. I've installed K Lite codec pack and it will play the sound from the DVD but it won't play the picture. Can anyone help me get it working?

I installed Power DVD and now the playback in media player is blocky instead of just a black screen. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Download VLC and use that mate. much better.

I have got VLC but I prefer WMP as the media buttons on my keyboard don't work with VLC and I prefer the interface of media player so I would really like to get it working

I already have KLite installed but will give that a go and see if it makes a difference

Actually you should get rid of Klite since it's more trouble then it's worth (CCCP only has the codecs that are needed where Klite can have multiple codecs that will only decode one type of video and will conflict with one another)

I've just got rid of K Lite and installed CCCP and I still have the same problem that I have a blank screen but it's still playing audio
