WMP XP problem

when watching streaming video using windows media player the colours are all hyper, like the weird effects u can get on mobile phone cameras, all red, blue green etc

What could it be?

I have not encountered this issue before, but usually playback issues are codec related. You could try installing ffd show, I personally use a codec pack.
