WMP10 restarts my computer

Lo all,

this has only just started and I can't explain it. If I start media player and play a song it will let me play it but if I try and change track during the middle of a song it restarts my computer.

I have tried un-installing and re-installing it but that didn't fix it

If I run the songs through ITunes or Realplayer they work fine.

NOD32 says I'm clear of Viruses and Ad-aware says I'm clear of spyware.

Anyone had a similar problem, any suggestions as too how to fix it?

Ok, has this happened all the time (since uve got WMP10) or only just started recently? Have you installed anything else recently (like a plugin/add on) or installed any other programs? Does it throw up an error message at all or does it just go dead and then restart? Have you checked all the cables at the back? (stupid I know but double check!)

It's a bit wierd but still cureable! Just use winamp instead...

Hehe at the moment I'm using Itunes for music and Realplayer for video. I know its not the best bit of software but its handy having everything work using one program.

It's only just started (I've had MP10 for months) and I can't think of any software that I've installed that would affect it. I only installed Itunes because it was crashing.

I'm not too fussed about not having it but it makes me worry about the stability of my system if programs are going to start crashing for no apparent reason.

I don't get any error messages, it just restarts the computer :confused:

Right, I've reformated my computer and media player is still doing the restart thing :confused:

I thought it might be a ram problem because Im using the 2GB Crucial Ballistix kit that everyone in the memory section is having problems with but after 70 iterations of memtest it seems to be fine :confused:

I know I could just use another program but it was a good all-in-one that I didn't have to think about.

Seems like its a graphics card driver problem. I've just removed the drivers and it's working fine :confused:

I've tried three different nvidia drivers now and they all do it

any suggestions?
