tried removing codecs and all the usuall stuff but still happens.

you guys rekon its a ati driver issue? im running official cats 7.4 with CCC, and ccc avivo options are all set to application controlled. and even if i force the colour settings myself to stay the same.

picture explains it the best.

forgot to add, VLC is fine, nero showtime and media player both have the same issue. and being on a crt i can instantly tell the difference between the blacks.

would love to keep using media player though, does anyone else get this problem or is it just me?

trying to find out if its a media player fault or a catalyst fault so i can report it to the correct gang.

Seems to do it for me as well....I've never noticed it before though ...maybe because I have a LCD screen.

BTW I have a 7900GT and this is Vista x64 if that makes any difference.

right if it happens on both nvidia and ati cards then its a microsoft issue with windows media player 11

also same os here, vista x64. by the way do you have network connection issues where it takes 20mins odd to connect up to the router?

Nope it connects almost instantly...usually the little internet icon is added to the lan icon as soon as the sidebar loads.

My card is a Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller in case that helps. Also it worked fine on my nforce network controller when I had my 939 setup.

Or just leave the puter on :)

very odd then. can't think why it takes me 20 mins for the network to get an ip address from the router, and this used to be instant on xp.

This happens to me aswell.

Just use MPC instead.

gutted really, but good thing i don;t watch films and stuff on this pc so its not really a real issue.

couple of other gfx bugs though probably related to catalyst control center.
fore some reason if i run paint shop pro it put the gfx card into 3d mode and applies the 3d clock speeds.

but if i run something like rthdribl in a window it still runs in 2d clock speeds? very odd that.

yep, and they better sort it out fast otherwise they know whats good for them. not gonna pay to use software that doesn;t work properly.
