Does it have better support for hi def files?

With WMP 10 it seems to play alright for a while then sound and video become out of sync.

Neowin had an article saying it would be out today. Then again they had an article a few weeks ago saying a source at Microsoft had confirmed it would be out last week too, so don't get your hopes up...
