wmv hd convertors (legal)

hi guys i have a load of home movies ( no not that kind u dirty minded fools

) that i would like to play on my hd tv through my xbox360 now i have an external hdd that i hook up to my 360 but am wanting to convert them to hd by means of a legal and free program, do u guys have any good ones available

Could you not put them on a dvd and allow the xbox to upscale them.

Also what do you mean by HD, which you've used often hard disk or high def?

sorry changed it now hdd=hard drive hd= high def yea would like change the media files that my camcorder has put them in to and change it to high def if possible its either this or keeping my friends wedding and holidays and my pc and going out and getting a new HD comcorder which are still pricey

What file extention are we going from? Are the files from your camcorder in HD or not, if there not, there is little point in bloating the file size with detail which wasn't originally there when it can be upscaled.

Put them on a normal dvd (proper mpeg2 dvd) and let the xbox upscale it

Have you got nero vision express, tmpg, premiere or anything like that?

you need something that can author a dvd
