WMV on Mandriva

I have installed the W32 codecs from http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/xine/ but they still dont work. Divxs is working right away.

I would appreciate a point in the right direction, surely it cant be more than like 3 steps?!

How did you install them and did they actually successfully install?

doing rpm -ivh w32codecs-whatever.rpm should provide a bit more verbose output re: the installation process.

Right mouse and install. There is a w32 library folder with stuff in it.

You might want to try VLC if you can't get the proprietary codecs to work.

Why wouldnt the proprioty codecs work?

EDIT - I installed VLC and now they work. Its all starting to SLOWLY make sense.
