Guys
Bare with me on this please, because Ive just moved to Win8.1 Pro recently on a 5820k/970/16GB machine which in general is working well but have found a weird quirk with IE 11 and Google and its annoying the **** out of me.
Desktop mode
Have three tabs open (none of them relating to google at all), open up a tab and go to google and it opens as quickly as any other page.
Type in a search and results come up. Left click on a result and the page opens instantly without an issue, but generally I want to keep the results page open (just in case the first few attempts aren't what Im looking for) so I right click the results and this is where the quirk happens.
Right click any result and open in new tab, the new tab opens instantly, but doesn't flip over, so you are still looking at the results page. The new tab is labelled google.co.uk and stays that way indefinitely until you actually select the tab and manually refresh and then you get the page from the results page. (edit - I get the same symptom if I select "open in new window" as well as "open in new tab")
Even though the tab is labelled google, the actual link for selected page is in the address bar it just never goes there without the manual refresh.
Ive just tried this with Chrome and it works as you would expect, but I still prefer IE - any one got any ideas why this happens?
