Hey fellow OC'ers.

I've decided to use my DVI port on my TV/Monitor for something else, after fitting a HDMI cable to the back of my GPU to my TV/Monitor I am experiencing funny colours when at 1920x1080 but if i'm at 1440x900 I don't experience a problem...

Monitor - SAMSUNG SyncMaster 2333hd
GPU - AMD Radeon HD 6950 (Unlocked to 6970)

Pictures to follow.

I would like to apologise but i've only got my iPhone at hand...

Just a thought, I'm not sure if this would be it, but as it is at one res and not another then sounds very specific. Have you tried another HDMI lead?

If I'm talking rubbish then just say, but I just feel that's what I'd check first off.

I'll try another HDMI lead then, I got a 1.4 one somewhere....

As a 'n00b' to HDMI cables, how does an 1.4 version work in comparison to the standard one?

I have this problem completley different colours when using HDMI rather than VGA. Would be great to find a reason why!

Different versions added more usability, ie:

HDMI 1.0 - HDMI 1.0 combines a digital video signal (standard or high-definition) with a two-channel audio signal over a single cable, such as between an HDMI-equipped DVD player and Television.

HDMI 1.1 - This version adds the ability to transfer not only video and two-channel audio over a single cable, but also added the ability to transfer Dolby Digital, DTS, and DVD-Audio surround signals, as well up to 7.1 channels of PCM audio.

HDMI 1.2 - This version of HDMI adds the ability to transfer SACD signals in digital form from a player to a receiver.
etc..

Just a thought on this, what is the refresh rate set to when you're using 1080p? have you tried it at 1080/24 if possible? I know this may not be exactly what you want, but I'm trying to think of anything you can try to pick up the problem.

I dont suppose you have a DVI-HDMI lead so you can use the dvi out on the pc into the hdmi on tv? or try a different hdmi slot? Is there one labeled "DVI"

i know this sounds silly, but my tv has that! :P

ohh i see its the dvi on the card which is in use....hmmmmmmmmmm

I'm out of ideas mate, very sorry :( hopefully you'll be able to find out what's causing it soon though.

After investigating further I have just realised something..

On CCC I can only use the Basic Resoluions but if I want to use the HDMI ones I have the colour issues.

I'm hoping to get this sorted by the weekend as a LAN party has been organised..

CCC?

Would love to get this fixed for myself too, using a sony bravia TV which just seems to hate my HDMI pc connection and causes the same issue as you have.

CCC is Catalyst Control Centre. The same thing as nVidia's Control Panel.

I never had any problems using my PC on a DVI - HDMI adapter. Have you tried changing the resolution in Windows Control Panel? I don't know if that would make any difference, but it's got to be worth a shot...

One other thought; I could individually adjust colour settings through different connections when I was using my PS3 and PC on an HDTV, so try adjusting the colours on the monitor. I had different settings for each thing I had connected to my TV.
