I have an shuttle that has debian on and is connected via cable to my router is it possible to use my wifi laptop to wake it up over wifi? If so how please.

Add the missing ')' to the link and it works.
You're not waking via WiFi, merely sending the magic packet via WiFi - the waking is done via the wired connection.
I used to use a similar setup to wake my work computer - as I got close to our building, my phone latched onto the Wifi and sent a magic packet. By the time I was at my desk, my computer was up and running
