Wolfdale e8200, e8400 and e8500 available for Pre-Order!

These looks very tempting, but my question is, how will a very overclocked dual core compaire to a quad core where the power is needed?

Allso, will there be quad 45nm processors any time soon?

Cheers

Yes the quad core 45nm processors will be out in the next couple of months ... looks like Intel are trying to get as much money out of us as usual - superfast overclockable core 2 duo's followed by everybody needing to upgrade to the superfast quad core's a couple of months later. I think I will wait until the quads hit the market myself.

Nobody actually needs quad core yet, Those that do are in the very small minority.
Others just want them to stay ahead of the curve.
If all you use your PC for is general entertainment, be it gaming, movies, internet etc.. all you need at the very most is dual core.

Agreed.

also these chips will obviously fetch a good amount of money back if sold later on.

Brilliant :D. I still have my 2900Pro so I can sell that. I don't think I'll even have to pay for this 8400. (woot) Gotta love not having to spend money!.

Now I've got to find out if my motherboard can max 500FSB .

Jedi,if you get these in stock before the end of the week and youve pre-ordered one is there anychance of them being sent out on friday so we would recieve them on the monday?

No one will be getting a e6850 now! Still a bit pricey, although it would be nice to have 4GHz goodness in reach of the common (air cooled) man :)

Even at that price, I have no doubt OCuk will sell out of the first batch of these.
