Wolfdale Spec

Thinking of changing my E6600 to the E8400. I've got the Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R motherboard which should support the Wolfdale CPU.

But my question is that, will PC2-6400 memory be OK in combination with an E8400? I'm sure DDR3 or PC2-8000 would be a better mix, but can't afford to get it all in one go.

Your views would be really appreciated

Which ram is it ? a lot of ram is capable of 500 mhz and more especially crucial ballistix.
