So, Coretemp or Realtemp - which of them is right? Was a consensus ever reached. Every damn program seems to read slightly differently.

Not sure which is best, E8500 in my rig and have tried real temp and core temp, though the new version of Core Temp seems better

All of them read exactly the same now IF you have a Bios supporting the Wolfdales (new Bios IS needed for EO's as they have revised temp sensors) and have LATEST builds of Speedfan / Core Temp / Real Temp.

The T-Junction IS 100C (for 45nm Duals) and that's straight from Intel's new released Info weeks ago (not sure why some peeps are still posting confusing misinformation threads around the forum TBH).

Yep, the latests versions of each read the same now, so it becomes a personal preference. At the moment Realtemp just wins for me, as it gives min and max temps, which I find quite useful. They can get rid of the distance to TJMax data, as it's fairly pointless and makes you have to double-check the temps.
