Just heard White Unicorn and thought it sounded quite cool, looks to be quite mainstream so will probably get beaten down about now, I like it and on that basis have just ordered the album.

Whats the general feelings towards them and the album then?
 
What do you mean when you say "looks to be quite mainstream"?

Only heard their first song, actually on TOTPS and as soon as i started to listen, wasn't really sure. I don't entirely like that sort of style but after i looked into other tracks on the album, they're starting to grow on me. Good job i'm seeing them at Reading. :)
 
I'm going to see them as part of some MTV2 new music tour in a couple of months ... however i know nothing about them :rolleyes:

I did see their performance from T in the park on telly though, they were ok, shall have to pick up the album.
 
When I say that about mainstream, is I usually like obscure music, at least at the time that is not popular with the CD buying masses.

Just unusual for me to like it thats all, very rare for me to genuinely like something on the front pages of music stores on in the charts of any kind!

Sound very much like ACDC, Pink Flloyd, The Who, Zeppelin etc.

Just like them quite a bit, nice background music you can engage with when you like. :)
 
Just saw an advert on TV, doesn't look too bad for "classic rock" as they call it. I'll give it a try :)
 
Well got the album today, its not bad at all. :)

Prefer the Billy Talent II album I got at the same time, but this one will be with me for a lot longer I think. Quite good as a whole album but one think the first two tracks on it stand out for me at the moment.
 
Classic 70's rock they are.... Too good to have come up with the idea themselves IMHO. Great album though, its a re-issue been doing the rounds for a year or so now.
 
Had a listen to this today, it's sounding pretty good. It got good reviews on all the music sites I read, and have been meaning to pick it up for a while.
 
I wanted to give it the thumbs up, some parts of this album are great but in places in gets a bit annoying/irritating (for want of a better word).

Perhaps it needs a few more plays...
 
Bit of a thread resurrection here, but I am absoloutely loving Wolfmother at the moment. One of the best bands I have heard, period.
Best track off their latest album is probably Colossal. Hopefully going to see them at the brixton in November.
 
I saw them at Lowlands, they were decent live and had some good sounding songs, I'll probably pick up the album after these recommendations :D
 
I heard Dimension on The Album Chart Show months ago, I quite liked it so picked up the album next day.

And what an album, don't buy many albums, but is one of the best I've bought this year and is constantly being played.

Although I wasn't too sure on that Apple Tree song when I first heard it, wtf is that about. :confused:

I'm loving them also!

I saw them on the telly when they played T in the Park, so I decided I had to check them out when I went to Leeds and I wasn't disappointed. Brilliant stuff. No frills rock n roll.

Bought the album on Monday and it's ace!


edit: Apple Tree is ace :)
